Visitors to the Hartbeespoort Dam area will have a new activity to enjoy following the reopening of the cableway.

Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk gave his approval of the cableway on Tuesday as it opened it's doors once again after eight years of closure.

The 1.2km cableway - the longest in Africa, overlooks Hartbeespoort Dam surrounds in the North West province and can shuttle 300 people per hour up to the summit of the mountain where they can see the magnificent view.
