Brand new renderings of the highly anticipated One World Trade Centre (also called 1WTC) have just been unveiled. The building, which was previously called the Freedom Tower, will sit on the site where the Twin Towers stood, before their tragic fall in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Sian Disson, News Editor at World Architecture News said: "These renderings demonstrate the transformational effect that Skidmore, Owings and Merrill's One World Trade Center is going to have on the city of New York as part of the wider masterplan. The minor alterations shown in these images are intrinsic to the design, giving character and showcasing how subtle changes from the architects will redefine the tower and stitch it into the fabric of Lower Manhattan. The construction project has suffered a series of glitches but hopefully it is now onwards and upwards for New York's highest new landmark."
