Saturday, 20 October marks the 1st anniversary of the death of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. From 1969 to 2011, Gaddafi ruled Libya with a mix of uncompromising tyranny and outrageous bluster. He imprisoned those with whom he didn't agree and encouraged his citizens to spy on each other. Yet when it was expedient to do so, he wooed countries he'd previously loathed, and was more than happy to shake hands with the likes of Tony Blair and Barack Obama.
