Cat Survives Washing Machine Cycle
A Johannesburg pavement-special cat spun around in a washing machine for an hour and 45 minutes -- and survived without a scratch, according to a report on Friday.
"The vet told me she had lost seven of her nine lives," Karin Bennett, 63, told The Star newspaper.
"I can now see the funny side of it, but you can imagine my shock."
After returning from a shopping trip, she heard distressed meows from her cat, Tabitha Twitchet. She searched everywhere, until she spotted her black, furry face through the washing machine's glass.
Tabitha was rushed to a veterinarian where she was treated for hypothermia. Her kitty was not impressed after returning to her Randburg home from the vet.
"She turned her back on me totally, like it was my fault that she was washed and rinsed. It could happen to anybody. She must have been sleeping in there," said Bennett.
