A man was critically injured when a jack, supporting an earth-moving vehicle he was fixing, gave way at a factory in Bramley, Johannesburg on Wednesday, paramedics said.

The man was apparently working on the undercarriage of the vehicle when the support gave way, said Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks.
When paramedics arrived, the industrial vehicle had been lifted off the man.
He was stabilised at the scene and was taken to the Netcare Milpark Hospital, where he was in a critical condition.
