Police were searching on Thursday for a professor who went missing in the Marieskop Mountains, near Hoedespruit, said Colonel Leonard Hlathi.

He said the Polish man had been missing since Sunday.
"We have teams from Limpopo and Mpumalanga searching for him," said Hlathi.
The 37-year-old professor was identified as Dr Powell Jaloszynski.
He was with a group of students at the weekend doing research on insects on the mountain when he disappeared. It was not known which tertiary institution he was from.
