Still, 16GB is the maximum storage option you'll be able to get, and there's no chance of expansion as - similar to the iPad - there is no microSD card slot.

Why? Asus told us it was for two reasons. Firstly, to keep costs down. But secondly, and most importantly, it's down to the emphasis on the cloud with the Google Play Store.

For example, you'll be able to download e-books, apps and films and delete them from your device at any time - they'll still be sitting in the cloud for you to re-download whenever you want. This also works across devices, so any apps you might have bought for your Android phone can also be downloaded on to the Nexus 7 for no extra cost.
