Cycling - CFD

Some of the cyclists from Great Britain's dominant cycling squad have been using bikes that use CFD (computational fluid dynamics) which can assess airflow and helps decide the right shapes for handlebars and other parts of the bike to make it more streamlined.

Team GB cyclists have also been using wind tunnels in their preparation, which helps them to decide the most aero dynamical positioning.

While training in Manchester, laser-timing technology was able to monitor around 30 cyclists at any given moment and provides millisecond accuracy.
